The Margaret Mahler Literature Prize is presented annually to a researcher or practitioner whose work contributes to the understanding and development of Mahler's separation-individuation theory or the understanding of preventive interventions and the treatment of children. Papers focused on intra-familial interaction and conflicts will also be considered. Recipients are selected by the Foundation board and announced at the May meeting in Philadelphia. Recipients receive a $1000 prize.
